Products Containing Asbestos: Where is Asbestos Found?
As discussed in the asbestos overview section, all new uses of asbestos in the U.S. have been banned since 1989, but removal of asbestos from each and every source that existed prior to that date is not possible. Therefore, it is important to be familiar with the many different substances, products, and materials that may contain asbestos, especially if you believe that you or a loved one are developing an asbestos-related illness.
Note: this list does not contain each and every product or material that may contain asbestos, and the fact that a product or material is listed here does not necessarily mean that asbestos can be found in each version of that product. In other words, some of the products and materials identified here may be manufactured completely free of asbestos.
