NHTSA ANNOUNCES SAFETY RECALL OF CENTURY CHILD SAFETY SEATS

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today announced a safety recall involving 376,000 infant car safety seats manufactured by Century Products Company of Macedonia, Ohio.

The agency said some of the company's infant car seats and infant car seat strollers have buckles that may release upon impact. The infant car seats, manufactured between Sept. 12, 1995, and May 13, 1996, are model numbers 4525, 4535, 4560, 4565, 4575 and 4590. The infant car seat strollers involved are model numbers 11-570, 11-597, 11-600 and 11-650.

Owners should contact Century to obtain a free replacement buckle kit and installation instructions. They can do so by calling Century toll-free at (800) 837-4044 or by writing to Century Products Company, 9600 Valley View Road, Macedonia, Ohio, 44056.
