WASHINGTON, August 21, 2003— Gung Ho Corp., a Bellwood, Ill., establishment, is voluntarily recalling an undetermined amount of pork egg rolls with shrimp that contain an undeclared ingredient, Sodium Bisulfite, a known allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.

The products subject to recall that were distributed to retail establishments are:

• “Gung Ho, 3 PORK EGG ROLLS WITH SHRIMP ADDED, NET WT. 10 OZ.”
• “Gung Ho, 6 MINI PORK EGG ROLLS WITH SHRIMP ADDED, NET WT. 10 OZ.”
• “Gung Ho, PORK EGG ROLL WITH SHRIMP ADDED, NET WT. 12 OZ.”

The product subject to recall that was distributed to wholesale establishments is:

• “INSTITUTIONAL USE ONLY, GUNG HO, PORK EGG ROLLS, SHRIMP ADDED, Net Wt., 15 lbs. 5 oz.”

The products being recalled bear the establishment code “EST. 17821” inside the USDA seal of inspection. The products were distributed to retail and wholesale establishments in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.

FSIS has received no reports of illnesses associated with consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a physician.
