SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, August 20, 1999--Entrees, Inc. is recalling all 7 ounce packages of Giant California Roll products because they contain undeclared known allergens contained in surimi. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to snow crab, egg whites, or wheat starch, or pollock products run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

California Roll Sushi has been distributed throughout the Western Washington and Portland, OR areas, under the Banzai Sushi label marked as Giant California Roll Sushi in retail stores. All store and department managers are requested to pull all Giant California Roll packages from their shelves immediately. Please keep the product in your coolers, mark it "RECALL"and return it to your normal delivery person.

Banzai Giant California Rolls comes in 7 oz., plastic packages marked on top with a "Consume by" date of August 23 and earlier stamped on the label.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with our Giant California Roll.

The product has been recalled after it was discovered that the ingredients including snow crabmeat, wheat starch, egg whites, and pollock was distributed in packaging that did not reveal their presence under current labeling.

As of this press release, production of all new Giant California Roll products will be relabeled to include notification that our surimi contains the above mentioned ingredients.
