Benzene

Benzene is a chemical found in crude oil, gasoline, tobacco smoke, motor vehicle emissions, and the burning of coal. Benzene is a known carcinogen (cancer-causing agent), so exposure to high levels of the chemical -- especially in individuals who work in industries that manufacture or use benzene -- can result in serious health problems.
