Aredia

Aredia is used to treat hypercalcemia (excess calcium in the blood) associated with some types of cancer. Since 2004, some cancer patients taking Aredia (generic name pamidronate) have developed osteonecrosis of the jaw, a medical condition in which the jawbone partially crumbles and dies, causing severe pain, loose teeth, and disfigurement.
